Summer 2009
More courses. More Opportunities.
Message from the Dean
I am pleased to highlight some of the significant educational opportunities that are available to you this summer in the College of Arts and Sciences. We have expanded our summer offerings which now include courses in a wide variety of disciplines. These courses are open to UB students, to students attending other academic institutions, and some of our introductory courses are available to advanced high school students. Whether it is a course in painting or in filmmaking, in language or in philosophy, in global environmental science or in mathematics, in international politics or in world civilization, students will find themselves surrounded by an intellectual and stimulating environment filled with concerts, performances, lectures, athletics and recreation, career-oriented workshops, and other exciting activities.
For more information, please read the controlled enrollment courses petition.

Current UB students who wish to accelerate their graduation from UB, have the option to select courses from an expanded summer class schedule. Incoming freshmen to UB have the opportunity this summer to get a head-start in their education by taking summer courses to satisfy their general education requirements or requirements within their major. Students who attend college elsewhere but are in Buffalo for the summer can take advantage of the transferability and low cost of our summer course offerings and fulfill requirements at their home institution. Motivated high school juniors and seniors who are eager to get a feel for the university academic experience can select from a variety of introductory courses. |
