Experiential Learning Award for Summer 2017

Undergraduate students pursuing a major in the College of Arts and Sciences are encouraged to apply for a one-time award (up to $3,000) to be used for Summer 2017 experiential learning activities. The award money is provided by a generous donor to assist students with academic and professional pursuits that will enhance their undergraduate curriculum. Examples include internships, independent research, community-engagement projects, and domestic travel opportunities.

*This award is for opportunities taking place within the United States. Students pursuing international opportunities should visit Study Abroad Programs or CAS scholarships for other sources of funding.

Guidelines:

1) Students must be at the undergraduate level pursuing a major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
2) Students may receive up to $3,000 for participation in an experiential learning opportunity. Awards will be considered based on need and the quality of the experiential learning opportunity at the discretion of the Dean’s Office and the Donor.
3) Funding must be used toward an experience taking place during Summer 2017 (some flexibility may be given). The payment process can take between 6-8 weeks to complete after you receive confirmation of an award.

If selected, recipients must complete all requirements of the experience or credit-bearing course (if applicable). Recipients must also submit a short written reflection (one page) and a thank you note to the Donor within one month of completing the activity. The short reflection should include a summary of your experience, what you learned, and how the activity made an impact on you. Photos and/or videos are also encouraged.

To be considered for this award, please complete the online application by March 15, 2017.
