The Julian Park Publication Fund

Through the generosity of the family of Julian Park, a former Dean of Arts and Sciences at the University of Buffalo, a fund has been established to support one early publication by junior (untenured) faculty in the College. The Julian Park Publication Fund is intended to defray costs directly connected with a work already accepted by an editor or publisher. Examples of such costs include page charges, reproduction rights, quotation permissions, photographic plates, extraordinary layout requirements and partial subvention if required by the press. The funds may not be used for the purchase of reprints.

Applications are invited from junior faculty holding (or soon to hold) tenure-track positions who have no other source of publication support from the College of Arts and Sciences. Priority is given to the first or second publication originating from the University at Buffalo. If you have recently had an article, book, or project accepted for publication, and there are preparation or production costs that will be expended before 1 June 2018, you may apply for support from the Julian Park Fund.

To apply, please send your curriculum vitae, a letter briefly describing your book or article, a copy of the letter or contract accepting it for publication, and details of the costs. State the amount you are requesting from the Fund and the specific reasons for the request. Do not include original material or receipts.

Application may be made at any time, and awards usually will be determined within 30 days. Expenditures must be completed by 1 June 2018. Supported publications acknowledge the assistance provided by the Julian Park Fund, College of Arts and Sciences, University at Buffalo.
